The Ghost Fern, Athyrium ‘Ghost’, is a new hybrid cross between the Japanese Painted and Lady Ferns. It inherited its upright form from Athyrium filix-femina, but the fronds are thicker and more substantial. From Athyrium niponicum ‘Pictum’ it derives its silver green color. Selaginella uncinata, the Peacock Fern, is one of the most unusual plants we grow. Also known as Rainbow Moss, from certain angles the iridescent foliage is an almost unbelievably brilliant blue, changing with the slightest movement of vantage point.  The leaves themselves are finely cut and densely spreading, with the look of a beautiful and intricate oriental carpet, fitting for a plant of Chinese origins. Plants are only winter hardy when well established. We recommend extra protection the first winter or two.
