One of the best things about my job is that I've been able to
visit a number of public and private gardens over the years...and
pretend that it's all in the line of duty. I've even been able to
convince people around here that it's part of my job description. At
this point I've amassed a collection of quite a few images, so for
those that are interested, I'd like to share. There are many
thousands of images that need to be reviewed, resized, and
captioned... so this is very much a work in progress! Note: there are more
images and additional information on
Our Online Catalog Pages.

| The first garden I'd like to feature is
Chanticleer,
one of my all time favorites. Located in Wayne,
PA ... outside Philadelphia. This is the former
estate of the Rosengartens, beautifully
maintained, like you imagine an estate garden
must have been lovingly cared for early in the
last century. |

| In the summer of 2008 I was able to attend
the first ever Salvia Summit held at
Cabrillo College,
near Santa Cruz, CA. They have one of the
largest Salvia collections anywhere. These are
some images of the extensive Salvia gardens
there. |

| This is an index to some of the
1000s of plant images I've taken over the years.
Files open in a separate window on the Google Picasa
website. When you get to the Picasa site if you
click on a thumbnail it will open a larger image.
From there if you click "Full Screen" in the upper
left corner it will open an even larger image. There
is also an optional slideshow. |
