Selaginella - Spikemoss
(sel-aj-in-ELL-a) Selaginellas, the Spikemosses, are not true ferns but they are closely related. They require a moisture retentive, high humus soil and protection from direct sun, and will not tolerate dryness. The leaves are finely divided, with good substance. They are stoloniferous and spread to form a thick groundcover, ideal for use under small shrubs, azaleas, etc.
